Open When Schools Are Closed

At Tender Years, we know that a school holiday is rarely a holiday for working parents. That is why our calendar is built around your work week, not the school system's. On most days when Anne Arundel County Public Schools close their doors, ours stay open — same loving teachers, same full day of care.

These are the only days our center plans for closing through the 2026–27 academic year.

Special School Age Camps on Long Holidays

Turkey Camp — November 23 & 24, 2026

While AACPS takes the whole week off for Thanksgiving, Cedar Grove Church will host Turkey Camp on Monday and Tuesday! Two full days of harvest crafts, gratitude activities, Bible stories, and plenty of fun for our school-age friends. Your child spends the days before the holiday making memories and thanksgiving keepsakes; you finish your workweek in peace. Spots fill quickly, so reserve your child's place early.

Christmas Club — December 28 through 30, 2026

Did you know Christmas doesn't end on December 25? That's when it begins. While AACPS is closed for winter break and the rest of the world takes down the tree, Tender Years keeps the celebration going with Christmas Club — three full days of carols, Christmas story time, nativity crafts, and joyful play during the true season of Christmastide. Your child spends the week between Christmas and New Year's surrounded by the wonder of the season; you head back to work knowing they're safe, warm, and loved. We close December 31 and January 1 to ring in the new year with our own families.

He Is Risen Camp — March 30 through April 2, 2027

Spring break is a wonderful week for children and a hard week for working parents. Tender Years bridges the gap with He Is Risen Camp — four full days celebrating the greatest news the world has ever heard through Scripture stories, resurrection crafts, springtime games, and outdoor play. While AACPS is closed the entire week, your child is safe, loved, and learning the true meaning of the season. We close only for Good Friday and Easter Monday, so your family can worship and rest together.

A Note for Our School-Age Families

On AACPS two-hour early dismissal days (October 13, December 8, February 9, and March 17), our Mighty Cedars School-Age program is ready for early arrivals. Your child will step off the bus into the same safe, familiar afternoon routine — no scrambling for coverage, no calling in favors.
